The editor’s picks here aren’t as good as ours.  But, still, any additional insulation to prevent me from reading raw NYT when I’m killing time and sort of sleepy is probably a good thing.

It reads like a high-school training exercise in why to be careful with journalists, but it’s also just fun. I value that, too.

  1. Dating website for “discerning” women looking for Harvard Educated Men. Sorry Jason. The FAQ is mildly entertaining. Also, women pay, men get in for free.
  2. Does Language Shape How You Think. Sometimes it does. The part about the Australian tribe which orders space solely through the words west, east ,north, and south is quite interesting.
  3. How panhandlers use free credit cards. Someone should try this as a senior thesis project at Harvard square.
  4. Saving these for my own interest and here
  5. I can’t quite figure this website out

I haven’t posted in a  long while, so I have quite a few things to add:

  1. What is it about 20- somethings? From the NYT.
  2. Using Satellite parking lot data on Wall Mart to beat the stock market
  3. Man goes around South America fathering hundreds of children. Why? Because Germany gives 500 euros a month (or year?) in welfare benefits. German government has paid 3 million euros because of this man. Yet another reason to be disappointed that I couldn’t get German citizenship for WWII crimes…
  4. The Summer that ended all summers Also from NYT
  5. Fidel Castro has a blog He sounds like an old. confused man.
  6. Rubik’s Cube can always be sold in 20 steps or less
  7. NYT Write an Entire Movie Review about how the Crimson Key Society shows Love Story every year.
  8. Coin Operated Park Benches that have Spikes in China
